This book is a real eye opener. I recommend anyone who is affected by an anxiety disorder to read this book. It's so insightful and really easy to understand. For me, I suffer with a hypothetical form of anxiety... stressing on the "what ifs?" Of day to day life. This book has made me rethink, and start to retrain my brain that anxiety is just adrenaline. It will pass and I can cope. The authors are a couple of lads who have both experienced anxiety and panic disorders, they explain the science behind the anxiety and for me. That was key. Understanding why the body does what it does. GPS should be writing prescriptions for this book.

I have previously read Joshua Fletcher's other books on anxiety, so I knew that we would be in for a treat with his latest release that is a collab between himself and Dean Stott (who runs the largest virtual anxiety support group worldwide DLC Anxiety). I love the book's approach and there is a wealth of information to really get your teeth into. Not only do you learn about the science (don't worry nothing too heavy!), but the skills and tools are invaluable for recovering from an anxiety disorder. Personal touches include the fact that these two gentleman have lived experience and have come together to create something that they should be very proud of. I particularly enjoyed the 'In conversation' parts of the book and they really bounce off of one another. The chapter on Exposure (done the right way) is also another win with me personally. Please continue with the great work boys! (You can find them on instagram @anxietyjosh @dlcanxiety and Josh also hosts his own podcast The Panic Pod).

I have read many books regarding generalised anxiety and panic disorders. This is the best book I have read by a mile. It is simple straight to the point and I feel like I can be free from panic attacks after waking up this morning wondering if I would be stuck with my symptoms forever after having panic attacks every other day. At the end of this book the author talks you through a panic attack so you can read it when you feel one coming on. I decided to read it out loud and record it on my phone so I can listen to it when I feel an attack brewing. I even slightly tailored it to me. I'm going to put this book to the test and edit my review later. This book is a saviour today!

This book really helped me through a difficult time in my life. I had been struggling with severe generalized anxiety disorder and had been seeing a therapist for months with very slow improvement in my symptoms. I decided to try out this book to get another perspective on my condition. I am so glad I did. Perhaps the most valuable thing I learned from this book is that my symptoms were not unique to me. It explained the "feeling" and symptoms of anxiety so well which gave me immediate relief as an ongoing concern I had when battling this disorder was that I was "going crazy" or developing a more severe mental illness. This book eases those worries by explaining the symptoms and logically breaking down what happens in the body during anxious episodes. It also provides practical approaches to dealing with anxiety that really do work. After reading this book (among others) and applying these various tools, my symptoms have improved and continue to improve greatly. I am starting to feel like my non-anxious self again and this book started me on that path.
